FC Dinamo București

Dinamo 1948, commonly known as FC Dinamo București, Dinamo București, or simply Dinamo, is a Romanian professional football club based in Bucharest that competes in the Liga I, the top tier of the Romanian league system. Founded in 1948 as the team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following the merger of Unirea Tricolor and Ciocanul, Dinamo București has played in the Romanian top flight in all but one season of its history. The club has won 18 Liga I titles, 13 Cupa României titles, two Supercupa României titles, and one Cupa Ligii title, making it the second-most successful club in the country. In the 1983–84 season, Dinamo became the first Romanian club to reach the semi-finals of the European Cup, where they lost 1–3 on aggregate to Liverpool. "The Red Dogs" reached another continental semi-final six years later, in the 1989–90 season, when they advanced to the last four of the European Cup Winners' Cup.
